plaster, wood, marbled paper
50 x 250 x 250 cm
By exploring the meaning behind each traditional design, I rearrange and subtly modify the motifs with my personal touch, bridging the past and present for a fresh perspective on this centuries-old tradition. Using silkscreen and marbling techniques, I reimagine these patterns to express their profound symbolism, aligning with cosmogonic narratives and harmonizing with the body’s forms. In a custom-designed pool, I use marbling paper to cover the floor, crafting a scene that evokes a creation myth centered around a water goddess.
